Guide for e-Filing in Malaysia

Starting from 1st Mar of each year, employer and employee can start reporting the annual income

tax to Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM) through e-filing system.


If you never registered before, you need to finish below registration:

1, Tax payer registration by LHDNM

2, Sign up for ezHASiL e-Filing account. During the sign up, you'll need a PIN, which you can obtain through the ezHASiL website, by mail/fax to an LHDNM office, or in person.


After the registration you can log into E-filing website, click “First Time Login”, enter the PIN and MyKad number. Review information and click "Agree & Submit". This registers your e-Filing account and digital certificate. Next time, you can login directly with your ID number and PIN.


After login, you need to click “e-forms“ to start file your income. You need to choose the correct classification of your resident individual and tax assessment year:

1, e-BE: no business income, filing deadline is 30th April

2, e-B: with business income, filing deadline is 30th Jun

3, e-BT: Special knowledge workers or employees, which has been approved by the Minister


If you have no business income, to file the filing, you will need to have below information:

-       Employment income from Malaysia

-       Rent/ Interest/ Premiums/ Annuities income from Malaysia

-       Gift money to government or other recognized institutions (refer to Part F)

-       Tax relief, like education fee, medical expenses, childcare fee, etc. (refer to Part G)


The system will calculate your tax automatically based on your input. The total payable tax amount

will be found under "YEAR OF ASSESSMENT XXXX BALANCE OF TAX PAYABLE". If all numbers are correct, then you can submit the file through system and make payment online via e-billing/

ByrHASiL/ e-TT.
